Release notes from Nvidia

This is the second WHQL release from the Release 285 family of drivers.

As part of the Nvidia Verde Notebook Driver Program, this is a reference driver that can be installed on supported Nvidia notebook GPUs. However, please note that your notebook original equipment manufacturer (OEM) provides certified drivers for your specific notebook on their website. Nvidia recommends that you check with your notebook OEM about recommended software updates for your notebook. OEMs may not provide technical support for issues that arise from the use of this driver.

Before downloading this driver:
* Please check to make sure that your notebook has a supported GPU (refer to the Products Supported tab below).
* It is recommended that you backup your current system configuration. Click here for instructions.
* If you own a Dell Inspiron 1420, Dell XPS M1330, Dell XPS M1530, or Dell Latitude D630/D630c it is highly recommended that you first install this Dell software update.

Release Highlights:
* This is the first WHQL-certified release from the Release 285 family of drivers. You can read more about this family of drivers on GeForce.com.

Product Support:
* This driver supports the following Nvidia notebook GPUs (please refer to the Products Supported tab for exceptions):

ION notebook GPUs.
* GeForce 8M, 9M, 100M, 200M, 300M, 400M, and 500M-series notebook GPUs.
* Quadro 5010M, 5000M, 4000M 3000M, 2000M and 1000M notebook GPUs.
* Quadro NVS-series notebook GPUs (only those that support DirectX 10 or higher).
* Quadro FX-series notebook GPUs (only those that support DirectX 10 or higher).
* NVS-series notebook GPUs (only those that support DirectX 10 or higher).

New in Version 285.62:
* This is the recommended driver for Battlefield 3. It contains several performance and compatibility enhancements for the final release of the game. Check here to see if your PC is ready for Battlefield 3.
* This is also the recommended and enhanced driver for Batman: Arkham City and RAGE.
* Contains a fix for the driver timeouts reported with the R285 beta drivers.

* Increases performance for GeForce 400 and 500-series GPUs in several PC games vs. v280.26 WHQL drivers. The following are some examples of improvements measured on Windows 7. Results will vary depending on your GPU and system configuration:

GeForce GTX 580:
* Up to 5% in Call of Duty: Black Ops
* Up to 7% in Civilization V with SLI
* Up to 5% in Crysis 2 DX11 with SLI
* Up to 7% in F1 2010 with SLI

Nvidia PhysX:
* Updates PhysX System Software to version 9.11.06.21.

Nvidia SLI:
* Added or updated SLI profiles for Battlefield 3, Dead Island, Diablo III, Dragon Age 2, Need for Speed: The Run, and Saints Row: The Third.

HD Audio:
* Updates HD Audio driver to version 1.2.24.0.

OpenGL:
* Adds support for OpenGL 4.2 for GeForce 400 series and 500 series GPUs.

Nvidia 3D Vision:
* The 3D Vision Controller (USB) driver is included in this driver package. Users are no longer required to install the 3D Vision CD driver or a separate 3D Vision Controller driver. For more information, please view this knowledgebase article.
* Adds support for viewing 3DVisionLive.com and YouTube 3D with Nvidia SLI PCs. Please view this knowledgebase article for more information on 3D Vision Window Mode.
* Window mode is now the default viewing option for the 3D Vision Photo Viewer.
* Added the following 3D Vision game profiles:
* Aion
* Diablo 3
* Dead Rising 2: Off The Record
* Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) 2
* From Dust
* Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2
* Last Remnant Benchmark
* Men of War Assault Squad
* Stock Car
* Update the following 3D Vision game profiles:
* Dirt 3 - updated rating to Excellent

Other Details:
* Supports multiple languages and APIs for GPU computing: CUDA C, CUDA C++, CUDA Fortran, OpenCL, DirectCompute, and Microsoft C++ AMP.
* Supports single GPU and Nvidia SLI technology on DirectX 9, DirectX 10, DirectX 11, and OpenGL, including 3-way SLI, Quad SLI, and SLI support on SLI-certified Intel and AMD motherboards.
* Supports GPU overclocking and temperature monitoring by installing Nvidia System Tools software.
* Users without US English operating systems can select their language and download the International driver here.

Notes:
1. Notebooks supporting Hybrid Power technology with Intel chipsets are not supported by this release.
2. Sony has joined the Verde program by supporting the following VAIO notebooks: Sony F Series with NVIDIA GeForce 310M and Sony F Series with NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M. Other Sony VAIO notebooks are not supported at this time (please contact Sony for driver support).
